Faughn Valley

Right on the doorstep of The Oaks Luxury Lodges lies the Faughan Valley, home to some of Northern Ireland's rarest and most ancient woodlands. These ancient forests, covering just 0.04% of the country's landscape, are a natural treasure. Since 2000, the Woodland Trust has worked to protect and restore small pockets of native woodland, including Brackfield, Oaks, Red Brae, Burntollet, and Killaloo Woods, all nestled along the valley. Soon to be the longest forest walk in Ireland, joining 4 of the main Woodlands together, The Ness Woods, The Oaks Woods, Ervey Woods and Burntollet Woods

For the outdoor enthusiast, 28 kilometres of wood land walks, or if a gentle stroll along the meandering river is more your cup of tea, these woods have something for everyone.
